Digha Fish Market offers a great opportunity to sample different varieties of fish. Stop at Mohona Fish Market at the upper end of the Old Digha beach and buy your choice of fresh-caught varieties of fish. Take the fresh fish back to your hotel and have them cook it for you. You can also buy fish from one of the auctions, held right on the beach after local fishermen bring in their haul.

Visitors flock to the beach morning, afternoon and evening. Located 6km. west from Digha is Chandaneswar Temple. Catch a bus from Digha or take advantage of rickshaw services to see the temple.

An annual fair takes place the last month of the Bengali calendar, which draws pilgrims from across the country. Take advantages of the fish market booth outside the temple or buy other items from other booths.
