The Turner Falls Park
In Oklahoma, the largest waterfall is in Turner Falls Park. It’s located in the city of Davis and sits 77-feet high. The water comes from the Arbuckle Mountain range and creates two natural swimming pools. During the off-season, it is too cold to use the swimming hole at the base of the mountain, so you are only allowed to swim during the peak season. You can also enjoy other park’s features, including picnic areas, nature trails, and caves.
Arbuckle Wilderness Park
Located in the Arbuckle Mountains is the Arbuckle Wilderness Park. There is a 200-acre Safari where you will be able to view live exotic animals roaming free. When you enter the park, you can buy food for the animals and feed them as you pass. There are two ways you can experience the park. You can enjoy the animals on foot or in a vehicle. The park also has a small petting zoo, a go-kart track, and a bumper boat ride.
Rock Castle in Davis
Dr. Ellsworth Collings was an Education’s professor at the University of Oklahoma in the early 1920’s. He designed and had constructed a castle in Davis made purely of rock quarried from the area. It was built on the side of the mountain and when you reach the top of the castle, you can get a wonderful view of the Turner Falls.
