Davis Things to Do
Davis, California is home to places like the University of California Davis Campus, Central Park Davis, and the Hattie Weber History Museum. In addition, there are other things in Davis while visiting.
Central Park Davis
At Central Park Davis, located between C and 4th Streets, there is a fun carousel, two playgrounds, the Davis farmers market, a cool shower fountain for the kids to run through, picnic areas, horseshoe pits, and a pavilion. While there is much to do in Central Park, there are places to relax and find some peace amongst the grass and trees. “The Flying Carousel of the Delta Breeze” is a human-operated carousel. The operator pedals like a bicycle to make it spin around.
Located at the UC Davis Campus, the Arboretum is a loop 3.5 five miles long with seventeen gardens surrounding it and the Putah Creek running through the middle. When not enjoying the scenery, it’s a great place for jogging, running, picnicking, studying, or just lying on the grass and reading a book or looking up into the clouds.
Also at UC Davis is the California Raptor Center (CRC) where you can learn all about the carnivorous Raptors. The CRC is a research and educational facility that rehabilitates orphaned and injured birds of prey.
The Pence Art Museum in Downtown Davis, opened in 1976, provides high-quality art exhibits and educational art programs to local residents.
Opened in 1950 the historic Varsity Theater is art-deco movie house showing art and independent films.
The Hattie Weber History Museum, adjacent to Central Park, includes exhibits on the history of Davis, the university, and the town before modern times. It takes about 30 minutes to tour the museum.
