Dali Museum

Blanes is home to the permanent collection of Dali artwork. The museum houses the largest comprehensive collection of the famous Spaniard’s art including jewelry, sculptures, and art. The museum has famous exhibits such as “Mae West’s lips”, “the car that rains indoors”, and “Melting Clocks.” The museum is open year round, but stays open later during the summer months.

Marimurta Botanical Gardens

These beautiful gardens are located on the top of a cliff that overlooks the beautiful Costa Brava. While visitors can take in the large collection of flowers and plants, they are treated with views of crystal clear blue waters. From the botanical gardens you can view some of Blanes’s beaches.

Markets

While walking on the main street that runs along the beach in Blanes, visitors are able to find a market. Along the market, several vendors will set up caravans and shops to sell their goods. Prices are fair and the goods range from souvenirs to sunscreen.

Beach

There are several beaches along the Costa Brava which extends north into parts of France. Blanes is able to claim ownership of the longest of the beaches on the Costa Brava. The beaches in Blanes have showers for washing off, and also portions have wooden boardwalks for easier access. From the beach in Blanes, visitors can walk to the rock that signifies the official start of the Costa Brava.

Girona

Located north west of Blanes, take a day trip to the historic city of Girona. The town is a walled city with Roman origins. Girona was an important point along the main route between the Pyrenees and Barcelona. While in the town, visitors are able to climb the steps to the city to an overview where they can see the entire city. On Sundays, they city hosts a flower market. Within the city there is plenty of architectural history with the cathedral and the ancient Jewish quarter. Walking around the town there are several bars and restaurants to stop for lunch.
