  • Landmarks Worth Visiting



  • The Bulatan Simpang Rantai is a roundabout near the center of town. There is a huge tree that locals refer to as a starting point for many directions. In the roundabout, there is also a popular restaurant called the Warong Mat Marican that serves breakfast. About 15 to 20 minutes from downtown there is a small village located along the ocean that features the shrine of Minyak Beku. This place is off the beaten path and a quiet place to go and visit if you are tired of the crowds.

  • Try Your Hand at Freshwater Fishing



  • If you’ve ever dreamed of pulling in that one big catch of the day, the Freshwater Fishing recreation center is the place to go. You have a chance at some of the largest and tastiest fish in the region, including the Soon Hock, Rohu and Pacu.

  • Located in Kampung Minyak Beku, there is a well that gave the town its name. Some locals say this is not the original well to the area but instead one that was built for tourists.

  • The Pasar Malam simply refers to the town market where locals gather to sell their wares. There is a market located in every town in the region and they are quite busy on weekends. Here you can purchase nearly anything you desire from textiles to jewelry and local food items.
