Aviano Things to Do

Agriturismo al Ranch
Located just a short drive from Aviano, this ranch has loads to offer. Visitors are welcome to enjoy organic pizza, horseback-riding lessons for kids, and live music on the weekends at the western saloon. The ranch has a friendly atmosphere with owners who speak English. The music offerings cover everything from blues to Italian folk music to general jam sessions where people are invited to get up and dance.
The Giant Caves are a quick drive from Aviano. They were partially explored in 1840 when the discoverer was searching for the source of an underground river. The caves were open to the public in 1908, and have been owned and operated by the Societa Alpina delle Giulie since 1922. The giant caves are open year round but have extended hours for tourists during the summer. Tourists are welcome to select from several time offerings of guided tours through the caves.
Restaurants and More
Along the Via Pordenone there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and wineries to explore. Along the main road, visitors will find the popular winery called Luciano Bessich. This winery has the best prices on Picolit in the area and offer the best tasting of Verduzzo and Moscato. The winery also features a special strawberry wine that tourists are encouraged to try.
