Tehran has some wonderful street vendors with food, spices, clothes, rugs and chocolates. If you’re traveling in Tehran, and you are looking for shopping, the best place to look is the the Tehran Grand Bazaar.
The Grand Bazaar
The Tehran Grand Bazaar is split into corridors, with each isle specializing in different types of goods, with small traders selling things like copper, carpets, paper, spices, and jewelry made of precious metals, food, and clothes.
The Grand Bazaar is located in southern Tehran and is over 10km in length. There are several entrances to the maze, and the bazaar is open at all hours. It’s difficult to say exactly when the “bazaar” first appeared in its current form, but there have been markets on these streets since at least the founding of Islam. Today’s Grand Bazaar is a continuation of this legacy. If you do ever get the chance to check out the Tehran Grand Bazaar, make sure to check out these stalls.
Bayramzadehnuts is a shop selling any nuts you can possibly imagine. Including walnuts, pistachios, peanuts, cashews and much more. The quality of the nuts are excellent, and the shopkeepers let you taste them before you purchase them.
The Grand Bazaar has genuine Turkey rugs and also locally made rugs. These beautiful items can be very expensive, but they are guaranteed high quality and guaranteed to last generations.
