If you are headed to Tangier for your next vacation or travel adventure, make sure you know the ins and outs of traveling the area. Here are some common tips for traveling in Tangier.

By Train

Located approximately 1km from the Tangier Med Ferry Terminal is the Tanger Med Train Station (Gare de Tanger Med). There are approximately four trains that go to and from Tangier so it is important to be at the station on time. While you are at the station, be aware of any taxi drivers looking to scam you because it’s common in this area.

By Ferry

If you are looking to get to where you need to go and don’t have much time to spare, make sure you look for the fast ferry.  These ferries are owned by the company FRS and are the quickest way to get to Tangier. These hydrofoils can get you there in around 40 minutes, but it is important to be on time for the ferry. They leave Tangier every 2 to 3 hours so if you miss your ferry you may find yourself waiting a while for the next one. Another piece of information to keep in mind while boarding the ferry is that Spain’s time is 2 hours ahead of Morrocco so adjusting your watch is a must.

Buses

Once you arrive in Tangier Port, there is a busy area of buses and other transportation that you can hire to help get you around the area. It is important that if you are on a tour to listen closely to your guide in order to not get lost.
