You can easily reach Sozopol by taking the bus from Burgas. The bus station offers easy to read signs and timetables. The route to Sozopol takes about 40 minutes and the busses run about every 30 or so minutes. The cost of the trip is around 3.5 Leva. In addition to regular bus service there are also a number of minibusses that make the same route.
There are also comfortable private busses available that connect Sozopol with each of the larger towns of Bulgaria.
When you are in Sozopol you can get around the town by using a carriage taxi. These are a great way to rest when you are tired of walking and want to move quickly from the Old Town to the New Area of Sozopol. The cost of these carriage taxis is around $8 to $10.
Another option for getting around Sozopol is to take a taxi. There are yellow taxis available all throughout the area. The cost for taking a yellow taxi from New Town to Old Town Sozopol is around $3.
From the pier you can get a boat ride around Sozopol or to the island of Saint Ivan. If you want to spend the day on the island you can arrange for a boat to drop you off and pick you up. If you plan to do this make sure that you bring your own food and water as there are no shops located on the island.
