Sliema Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys and Inside Tips

Sliema Shopping

During a visit to Sliema visitors find plenty of shops to satisfy any shopping urges. Whether you’re looking for clothing or something special to take home to that special someone, the stores here are likely to carry what you need.

What to Buy

Generally, while in Sliema, most people spend their time shopping for clothing, however, be warned it can be a little on the expensive side. Other items people look to buy are jewelry, shoes, toys, pharmacy items, cosmetics, souvenirs and gifts. Additionally, there are some shops that sell those fancier goods you might be looking for.

Where to Shop

Malta’s newest and biggest shopping mall was built on the renovated peninsula of Tigne Point where the old barracks used to be. It’s a fully air-conditioned shopping heaven stretched across three floors. There’s all the best stores, with a definite British bent, including Malta’s largest department store, Debenhams. Walk up the promenade and there’s a lift to the entrance, or you can walk up and around Tigne Point and enter that way. People either love or hate this shopping center. Some people are drawn to the familiarity of brands they can buy in the rest of Europe while others would prefer something unique. Near Preluna Towers is a shopping arcade where you can find various women’s and men’s clothing. There is also a cafeteria here, but it’s not very impressive. The nicest thing about it is that you can sit outside under an umbrella, relax in the sun and watch the people go by.

There are also a number of small local shops in Sliema to explore and see what they have to offer.
