Slide, glide, and zip at Utah's Olympic Park

My sister just returned from a cross-country road trip, and when she was showing me pictures (of

Wall Drug

in South Dakota, the

Tetons

in Wyoming, the policeman who pulled them over for going 70 in a 65 mph zone, also in Wyoming, and so on), I discovered what can happen to Olympic parks once the games are over. In Park City Utah, it turned into a sort of adventure amusement park that should be on the map for families, crazy-sport enthusiasts, and anyone who likes really long slides.

The

Utah Olympic Park

looks like a great road trip stop or activity if you're staying in the area. There's a

bobsled ride

(no previous bobsled experience required), the

World's Steepest Zip-line

, and an

Alpine Slide

. My sister went on the Alpine Slide, and is still talking about it days later. Ride prices range from $15 to $65 (less for kids).

Serious athletes and aspiring extreme (Xtreme?) sport enthusiasts have even more options, with

camps and other chances

to practice their bobsled, luge, and aerial freestyle (those ski jumps, which in this case land not in a pile of snow but in a swimming pool) skills.
