Sharm El Sheikh Shopping
This beautiful Egyptian resort town is popular for its sandy beaches and clear waters. For tourists who also love to do a little shopping on vacation, here are some tips for Sharm El Sheikh shopping.
Naama Bay in Sharm El Sheikh
Modern and touristy, this area of the town features organized merchant displays where you can get almost everything from clothes to gifts and more. However, if you wander down some of the narrow streets off the main promenade, you can find traditional shops with a more authentic way of shopping in Egypt. Nama Bay is also where you will find duty free shopping, but be sure to buy within the first 48 hours of arrival.
El Mercatto in Sharm El Sheikh
This is the big shopping arcade in town. You can find many brand names here such as Adidas and Daniel Hechter but much cheaper than in the west, especially since tourism numbers are down in Egypt. There are also many American fast food chains and cafes to grab a bite to eat after buying fresh, local spices from the many spice stands.
North Dahab Shopping in Sharm El Sheikh
You can find various shops in the North Dahab area. This is a good place to go shopping after a snorkel or dive at the blue hole. Various shops dot the area and you can get anything from smoking pipes to food and gifts. Items here are typically cheaper than in Naama Bay.
