People cruise for a multitude of reasons: to relax, to eat as much as possible, to see islands, and to play in the water. Cruisers who fall into the latter category—and specifically, scuba divers—might be interested to know that

    Windstar

    offers various

    diving packages and excursions

. Recently, the line added new double-tank dives available for booking on

    Wind Surf

    cruises.

In Dominica's Scottshead Marine Reserves, divers can explore an 800-foot vertical wall at L'Abym and a freshwater hot spring at Champagne. Two dives in Grenada's Flamingo Bay show visitors unique rock and coral formations, as well as a plethora of marine life. And when the

    Wind Surf

calls in St. Martin, divers can head to the Dutch side of the island to swim with sharks, dolphins, and stingrays.

    The

    Wind Surf

doesn't hit these three islands in one itinerary, so eager divers will have to combine back-to-back cruises to visit these spots in one trip. The weeklong itineraries alternate between a southbound trip from Barbados to Bequia, Dominica, St. Lucia, Mayreau, Grenada, and Tobago, and a northbound trip from Barbados to Nevis, St. Martin, St. Barts, Guadeloupe, Iles des Saintes, and St. Lucia.

On any of these cruises, divers can book a "Dive the Five" package for $350 and get five one-tank dives. Guests can also enroll in programs to learn to dive and get advanced dive training.

And if you're onboard to relax, eat, or sightsee, you can choose from a myriad of other excursions and still have a great cruise.
