San Antonio - What to Pack - Clothing and Supplies Tips

Sunny San Antonio has pleasant weather most of the year. Know what to pack before you go so you can keep comfortable.

Casual and dressy casual will get you into most places in San Antonio. Only the nicest restaurants require patrons to wear slacks or formal attire. Plan to pack layers if you visit during the spring, fall, or winter. Even in February the temperature can be in the mid-high 70s but at night drop into the 30s or 40s. Winter winds can get gusty and cold. If you visit in the summer, plan to dress for very hot weather. And whatever season you visit, comfortable walking shoes are a must! Preferably flat ones.

Whatever you don't bring, you can easily find in local stores. One absolute must is sunscreen. Also, don’t forget your sunglasses and a hat to shade your face. Plan to have some water bottles – it does often get hot here and you don’t want to dehydrate.

There are lots of photo opportunities in San Antonio, so definitely bring a camera (or plan to use your phone). You might want a tripod for night photos along the Riverwalk, especially at Christmas when the trees are full of colored lights.

If you are a serious golfer, bring your clubs.
