The Ring of Kerry is a famous road that encircles the Kerry peninsula in Ireland. Tourist make the drive around it each year by bus, car, on foot, or by bicycle to enjoy the wonderful scenery and history this place holds.

By Car

If you choose to make the trip around the ring by automobile, it would be wise to use extreme caution when passing and even consider residing to not pass at all, especially buses. The ring is an extremely narrow and old road and passing causes many accidents each year. Please don’t go on vacation just to end up a statistic.

By Bus

For reasons listed above it is safer and smarter to travel the Ring of Kerry by bus. You will be on a set schedule, but the buses allow for adequate time at each popular destination. This is a good idea to keep yourself safe, but also everyone else since you wont be adding to the problem of the congested route.

As a Pedestrian

On foot or bicycle will offer the most authentic experience, but you will have to rely on strangers more. Some travelers report starting their journey on foot and by the end of the hike hitchhiking because people passing by were so outgoing. It may be more humbling to travel this way, but you will definitely see more!
