  • Rethymno Nightlife

  • The majority of Rethymno's nightclubs get started after midnight and are outside of town, requiring a taxi ride to visit. However, if you’re looking to stay in town, there are some other good options too.

  • On the Promenade

  • If you walk along the promenade walkway in Rethymno you’ll find some places where you can sit, grab a drink and enjoy the views. Some bars have DJs and serve food - perfect for when you get the munchies long into the night after your meal.

  • Rock Cafe

  • Rock Cafe is located along the promenade. It’s a small bar with a good atmosphere; it's generally busy and the staff is friendly. There are a mix of tourists and locals (with possibly slightly more tourists than locals). A live DJ plays music and there is a dance floor. No specific dress code.

  • Figaro Cafe

  • Figaro Cafe is of the most famous and historical meeting points in the city of Rethymno. Located in Old Town, it’s an art and music bar and a night out here is an enjoyable time. You’ll see there are lots of happy people around. Figaro also organizes very interesting live music events, check their schedule. Dress is casual – just be you.

  • Punch Bowl Bar

  • Also located in Old Town, this little gem is just like a traditional Irish pub, so unlike some of the "Irish theme bars". The interior is decorated with a vast array of interesting items from an age gone by and the drinks list is extensive including great Guinness and Irish coffee. No special dress requirements.

  • What to Wear

  • Most places around Rethymno are casual and dress casual. However, it probably leans more towards dressy than overly casual. In other words, it’s best not to saunter in wearing flip-flops and carrying your beach bag.
