Q&A: How Do I Plan a Trip to the U.K. and Europe?

Reader sbsc04 writes, “My husband and I would like to go to Europe for our first year anniversary. We would like to be there for 2 weeks in April and are leaving from Las Vegas. We would like to go to Ireland, England, and France ideally, but are open to cheaper suggestions if you have any.”

Congratulations to you on your upcoming anniversary. April is a prime time to go since there will be fewer crowds and prices are typically lower.  There are several ways to plan your vacation. First, decide on where you would like to begin your trip and how you’d like to travel. You can then choose whether you want to book everything individually or go with a vacation package. If you decide the latter is a better fit for your time and budget, Gotoday.com has packages to Ireland, England, and France.

Even though you can’t find a premade package that fits your exact needs, you could opt for the six-night package to Paris and London starting at $849 per person (without taxes and fees) for travel in April. Or enjoy a fly-and-drive vacation to Ireland starting at $549 per person (prices only available through March).

However, if you have your heart set on all three destinations, you can tailor a package to your exact desires. I priced a two-week vacation package to Dublin, London, and Paris starting at about $2,000 per person (with taxes and fees), including airfare from Las Vegas, ground transportation, hotel, and taxes and fees.  Flexibility is limited with this option, but it does alleviate some of the stress of planning.
