Beach
The beaches are accessible to the public and by far the main attraction in Punta Cana. Whether you’re in the mood to snorkel, scuba, ride on an ATV, jet ski, or horse, the beaches of Punta Cana have you covered. Parasailing is a common attraction for the more adventurous travelers. If you’re like the many of us who prefer cocktails over extreme sports, Punta Cana has plenty of options for you too. Lounge all day under an umbrella, start up a game of volleyball, or visit the shops and restaurants that line the beach. Everyone on your trip will find something to do on the beaches of Punta Cana.
Isla Saona
Tourists who want to experience the natural beauty of Punta Cana should take a side trip to Isla Saona. This island is about an hour and a half by bus or two hours by boat, depending upon where you’re staying. Visitors to the island can hangout on the private beach, walk through its shops, and take in otherwise hidden views of Punta Cana. Travel to Isla Saona can be rather expensive and it likely will take up an entire day, so keep that in mind while planning your trip.
Manati Park
Manati Park is a kid friendly wildlife attraction in Punta Cana. Visitors take a bus to the park, where they can swim with dolphins, take pictures of toucans and flamingos, and watch a ceremonial Taino dance. The Taino people are native to Punta Cana and other parts of the Caribbean. The park is popular, especially with families, but it can be expensive. Talk to your travel agent or call Manati Park before you leave to see if they have any special offers before your trip to Punta Cana.
