Pulau Tioman Island is a part of Malaysia, a small Island just north of Singapore that is a popular and pricey tourist destination. It is a typical tropical island paradise. It is important to know all about the transportation options available to from the island if you plan to travel here as each option will involve careful planning.

By Water

There are exactly two ways to get to the Island of Pulau Tioman. Many tourists choose to take the ferry to the island, which takes about 2 hours and costs around 70 Malaysian Ringgits, equal to approx 16 $USD. You can reserve your tickets online or purchase them there. There is a bus stop that caters to ferry traffic here that provides transportation to and from the surrounding cities, such as Singapore and Mersing. You can also fly from Singapore too, which is considerably faster than the bus and ferry, but much more expensive. There is one reported airline that covers flights to and from Singapore. The airline is called Berjaya-Air.

Boat Taxis

Boat taxis are the main source of transportation once on the island and it is nearly impossible to get around without commissioning one. You can book a boat from the office of the hotel you’re staying at if you feel like you need help with translation. Expect beach front service. These are the same boats that will take you on an all day snorkeling event for the equivalent of 25$USD. They stay out form morning until early evening.
