Pulau Redang Transportation - Taxi, Train, Bus, & Airport Tips

Redang Island - PulauRedang - is a beautiful island off the east coast of Malaysia.  With powdery white sands, crystal blue waters, and splendid resorts, it's a great vacation spot. Transportation to and from the island is complicated, but worth it.

You get to Redang Island by ferry. It's a bit of a trek, but think of it as an excellent adventure! If you fly into KualuTerengganu Airport, you need to first get to Merang Jetty, some 30 kms away and takes 40 minutes. Then, you take the Ferry to Redang Island, which takes 45 minutes. Ferries hold upwards of 100 people and are safe and comfortable. I know, I know, it's not easy…some people take planes, taxis, buses and ferries…but everyone says it's 100% worth it!

If you've booked a resort, check to see if ferry transportation is included in your package. Check, too, at the airport for ferry tickets.

Are you in Singapore? You can fly directly to PulauRedang Airport. The flight takes 1.5 hours. Berjaya Air flies direct from Singapore Seletar Airport to PulauRedang Airport daily. Buses transport passengers between PulauRedang Airport and the hotel.
