Princess cancels April cruises

    Star Princess

    sustained significant damage in a fire last week. Upon completion of the ship's damage assessment,

    Princess Cruises

    has canceled all of the ship's April sailings. The

    Star Princess

    will return to service on May 15 when it begins its Europe season.

    Passengers booked on the April 9, 16, and 23 Caribbean sailings, as well as the April 30 transatlantic sailings, will receive a full refund of their cruise and airfare costs, as well as a future cruise credit equal to 25 percent of their paid cruise fare.

    The

    Star Princess

    will undergo repairs at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany.
