  • Portsmouth Nightlife

  • Along with a rich history, Portsmouth, New Hampshire has a vibrant nightlife. Here are some of the best spots to check out:

  • Pubs and Taverns

  • Molly Malone's Tavern - has a great little pub upstairs above the restaurant. Head to Molly’s if you’re looking for a quiet pub with that worn-in look and feel.

Portsmouth Gas Light Co - is a restaurant with three separate dining levels, each with their own atmosphere. They also have live bands and entertainment during the later hours.

Harpoon Willy's – resides at the end of the "alley" and gets very crowded during the warmer summer months. There is a small deck with great views and a little bit of a rowdy atmosphere. The bar is a local dive hangout, but drinks are quite cheap.

Ri' Ra'- is a chain of Irish pubs along the East Coast. This particular location occupies the Old New Hampshire Bank building. They have a large wooden bar and plenty of seating.

  • Clubs and Bars

  • Poco's Bow Street Cantina - is a great place to enjoy some drinks, relax, and have a bite to eat. The downstairs bar is comfortable with several tables, couches and plenty of bar seating.

Cava - serves a large selection of wine and some small plate offerings. They're located on Commercial street, right in the middle of everything.

Fat Belly's - is a restaurant, but it also has a bar made of ice blocks on the second floor.

Two Ceres Street – has a slightly more sophisticated atmosphere than your average bar with its brick walls, wooden beams on the ceiling, upholstered furniture, and a nice fireplace.
