Port Isaac Shopping

Port Isaac, a small port located on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, is a quaint fishing village offering you the chance to meditate in a peaceful environment. However, Port Isaac is also the host to unusual shops.

Visit Port Isaac Pottery and the Chapel Cafe

Situated in an 1836 converted chapel, you can still see the original date engraved on the exterior of a round window. You will find lovely murals inside the building. The pottery includes numerous items besides stoneware. Browse original paintings, sea glass pendants, bracelets and earrings. If you are interested in buying clothes, visit the Roscarrock Retail on the second floor.

Spend a Few Hours Visiting the Little Shops

When traveling, part of the fun is visiting unique shops like the Buttermilk Shop where you can buy Cornish Gin fudge and Cornish Earl Grey fudge. You can also find homemade pastries at Nicki B’s Pasty Shop. Note that the word pasty is a special Cornish pastry, typically a tiny pie, filled with meat.

Sample ice cream at The Ice Cream Parlour on Fore Street. Next, sip a cup of Cornish cream tea and eat a scone at the Stowaway Tea Shoppe located on Fore Street. If you want to take home souvenirs regarding your memoirs about Port Isaac, visit The Boathouse Stores & Post Office for a unique selection of gifts.

Resist the Temptation to Spend All Your Money

The only danger in visiting all the intriguing Port Isaac shops is that you may end up breaking your vacation budget. However, you may as well explore and try all the delightfully authentic Cornish products.
