  • If you like blending in with the locals, outdoor markets sell everything from cameras and film to fresh fruits and vegetables and whisky. You can haggle down prices to get the best deals. Be sure to take a peek in the side stalls for textiles including handmade rugs and blankets. The Chital market sells everything produced in the villages near Pokhara.

  • Lakeside Emporium



  • The Pokhara Cottage Emporium is a large shopping area located in one of the most scenic areas of town. It’s worth a visit just to stroll through the amazing displays of color from the fabrics and handmade items. The shopkeeper is extremely nice and welcomes guests with tea and even a place for the weary to rest. The prices are excellent and you can find everything from shawls to gemstones. You can also find a musical instrument shop with Nepali instruments for the music lover.

  • Souvenirs



  • If you like grabbing souvenirs for family and friends while on your travels, there are many t-shirt shops and gift stores in Pokhara. Start with a blank design and have the house tailor embroider a design on the front. There are many different styles to choose from and you can watch the shirt being made while you wait. Not all shirts are created the same, so be sure to try it on before you purchase it. Even if a tag says medium, it can be different depending on the brand.
