Pirates invade Grand Cayman in November

November is a great time to visit Grand Cayman. Hurricane season in the Caribbean is winding down but it’s not quite time for peak travel, making it the perfect window for savings. Better yet, it’s also pirate season. Arrrrrr…shiver me timbers!

The 2006 Pirates Week Festival, scheduled for November 9 through 19, will feature a host of events, many of which are free, so you can save money while you hunt for treasure. There will be a mock pirate “invasion,” street parades, dancing to Caribbean music, song contests, plenty of food, and fireworks displays. Dressing up is encouraged, so prepare for your best Johnny Depp impression (you can find all the hats, hooks, and swords you need in town). As it’s a popular festival, also make sure to book early.

For planning information on hotels, transportation, and events schedules, visit the Pirates Week Festival website.
