When you are in Pattaya, the most popular nightlife destination is the Walking Street, which has been nicknamed “Disneyland for adults”. While the entertainment is primarily “mature” adult entertainment, you probably know that and that is why you are visiting. If, however, you are in a committed relationship, this area might not be ideal for you. It is a 24/7 frenzy of screaming ladies. Check out the following highlights:

Walking Street

The Walking street is made up of dance bars, go-go bars, strip clubs and brothels on either sides playing music loudly. They all feature various colored, dancing lights. Girls and lady-boys can be seen in front of every bar. Some of them are doing make-up, some are adjusting their dress simply to get the attraction of the people passing by, and some of them are dancing to the tunes played there.

Butterfly Catch

Looking for some romance? Check out Pattaya’s Butterflies, who try to catch the generosity of the Westerns. Then, listen to their stories afterwards when they elaborate on their Butterfly Catches. Romantic, huh?

Bamboo Bar

After exploring the Walking Street and others nearby, we usually ended up at Bamboo Bar until it closed. The bar is actually not located right on Walking Street itself, but just to the left of the main sign on the road. I’d heard about this being the hangout for older men with younger Thai girls and although I have seen that at other places in Thailand, this bar made me feel very young. Plenty of seating is available to watch the live bands and the entertainment of the old men dancing. The band played a mix of western and Thai music, which kept the crowd moving in between the DJ selections.

Stoneys Bar

This bar is a great place to people watch on Walking Street. Stoney is actually an Aussie, but despite that, is a great guy and usually in attendance. They have the obligatory TV for Sports events and music that still lets you have a conversation without shouting. The staff is attentive and welcome you with a refreshing, cold towel and are happy to leave you alone for as long as you want to sit there.
