Focus on the area in which you plan to stay, but also look at the surroundings streets, towns, and villages. Saudi Arabia isn’t a fun place to get lost. Travel guide books will bring you up to speed on the best restaurants, hotels, and the highest-rated tourist activities. Travel books and magazines are great resources for travelers.
When in Saudi Arabia, expect to walk. The country’s largest cities have several transportation options, but many of the country’s tourist attractions can only be reached on foot. Pack a pair of athletic shoes, preferably ones you already broke in at the gym. Comfortable shoes will prevent blisters and will allow you to spend more time exploring the country.
