What to Pack for Montana - Packing List

Montana is home to many wonderful outdoor sites and activities, but the state's unique climate can sometimes make packing for a trip challenging. With a little preparation, however, you can ensure you have all the gear you need to get the most out of your trip.

Even in the summer months, temperatures can get fairly cold at night. In the winter, harsh weather can be expected. Consider bringing layers of clothing, including jackets and sweatshirts. Hiking boots are also recommended for outdoor activities, but they can also be worn anywhere during the cold winter months. In the summer, sandals may be appropriate for during the day.

With all the breathtaking views in Montana, bringing a camera to record your trip is a good idea. Your smartphone may be sufficient if you only want to take a few photos, but bringing a camera with a wide-angle lens can help you to capture great shots. Be sure to pack chargers for your cameras and other electronic devices. If you do forget your camera, you may be able to purchase one at a local store or shop.
