What to Pack for Georgia – Packing List

Georgia What to Pack

A visitor who comes to Georgia will be able to enjoy most of the comforts of home, but planning ahead will help ensure that a vacation goes smoothly. The packing list for Georgia isn’t lengthy, but there are things you won’t want left behind.

Luggage

Whether you’re headed to the Georgian countryside or cities like Tbilisi, duffles, backpacks, and carry-ons are clear must-haves in this country.

Dictionary

Unlike some other parts of the world, it might be hard to find someone with a good grasp of English living in the region. Locals prefer it when you can greet them in their own language, even if you can’t speak much more. Bring along an English-Georgian dictionary in order to smooth over any rough parts.

Warm Clothing

While Georgia is not nearly as cold as its neighbor Russia during the wintertime, it can still get chilly in the mountain regions and along the coast during fall, winter, and spring. Unless you’re visiting between May and August, bring along a sweater and pair of long pants in case you find it  to be much colder than you expected.

Clothes to Pack

Bug Spray

Mosquito repellant should be one of the very first things on your packing list due to the abundance of bugs. In winter you won’t need to worry about it, but warm wet summers make it very important. Toiletries such as medications should always be brought from home, but most generic items can be purchased around the country.

Power Converter

Georgia uses different electricity plugs than you’d find in the United States or European Union. Bring a type C plug converter and adapter for bigger electronics or appliances, like hair dryers. Or, you can get a converter at a convenience or department store to charge small items like your phone or camera.

Electronics to Pack
