Dominican Republic What to Pack
Congratulations, you’ve booked your dream Dominican Republic trip! Now you just have to figure out what to pack.
One suitcase and one carry on should fit all the necessities. It’s a good idea to give dual purpose to your carry on by using a beach bag, that way you have something to carry your beach towel in at your destination. A money belt is highly recommended for those planning to leave their resorts- you can never be too careful!
The Dominican Republic is hot (which is probably why you’ve chosen it) so pack summer clothes like shorts and tank tops. Throwing in a poncho or jacket could come in handy if the weather takes a turn for the worse. If you plan on doing a lot of walking make sure to pack comfortable sandals or sneakers. It also might be worth packing water shoes since there can be lots of rocks and sometmes glass in the water.
You can’t pack enough sunscreen when heading to Dominican Republic! Bring at least SPF 15. Because of the climate there are a lot of mosquitos so bring along repellent and consider mosquito nets. Don’t forget your essentials like razors, Advil and toothapste because anything you forget will cost you a bit more in the Dominican Republic.
Bring multiple swimsuits if you have them becuase you’ll be wearing them most of the time. Don’t forget a sarong and tank top for when you pop in to the beach bars. Beach entertainment is also a must so don’t forget your favorite book or music.
If you plan on bringing electronics be aware that an adapter might be needed for their 110V contacts. It is also highly recommemded to bring toys or coloring books for local kids and cash to tip maids and other hard working staff at your resort.
