P & O Pacific Sun

Author: Patrick P.
Date of Trip: April 2010

Having been on over 20 cruises and half with P & O from the UK, I am totally horified that they have such a low standard on the Pacific Sun.

Firstly, the two companies are not linked other than the P&O name so being a saphire member was a waste of time. The cabins had no fridge, a kettle but no cups or tea/coffee. The showers had little or no hot water and after complaining were no better.

The Lido food hall had over an hours que on day on and at least 20 minutes any other day for not great food. The restaurant did provide much better food but the average time to be fed after ordering was 30 minutes. Not one meal was hot. This is said to be a 3 star cruise line, I feel 2 star is a better description.

On the good side, the staff (all except the water waiter who acted like Manwell from faulty towers, putting toast on top of cerial or whatever happened to be in front of you) were excellent.

The shows were of a good standard, and the entertainers were good with the exception of one comedian who could not put 3 words together without a f***.

The pool area was noisy and full of screaming kids, There was a quiet deck wher the kids are not allowed but it cost $15 to sunbathe up there and no pool.

Overall I would suggest anyone considering this ship to consider Royal Caribbean or similar ships where standards are much higher for very little more money.
