The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has declared that October is the best month to book a cruise. The organization plans to help travelers who want to shop for cruises next month with its “World’s Largest Cruise Night” on October 19.
CLIA is organizing its affiliated travel agents to host special cruise-related events on the same day. The agencies will host parties, dinners, and other activities to educate guests about cruising and offer eager customers the chance to book. Special offers will be available for people who book on October 19 at one of these events.
CLIA neglects to mention what will happen throughout the rest of October, other than one night of events. Will cruise lines slash prices? Will travel agents offer extra perks that are not available in September or November? On this point, CLIA is silent.
Anyone interested in attending a Cruise Night program can look for a nearby event through CLIA’s event locator at the bottom of its homepage. Should you go, ask the cruise line representatives and travel agents why October is the best month to book a cruise. I’m curious.
