Nox Sleepace Review: Can This Gadget Beat Jetlag?

The new Nox Sleepace uses lights and sounds in a bid to help you sleep better. The bedside gadget employs a special red wavelength light which is supposed to help you naturally produce more Melatonin, which should help you fight off jetlag and sleep better.

Nox Sleepace Review

Price and Where to Buy the Nox Sleepace: Available on Sleepace’s website for pre-order ($149.99).

How the Nox Sleepace Rates:

  • Usefulness: 6/10. The system consists of a sleep light and speaker that displays red light and soothing ocean noises, plus an app that analyzes your sleeping habits and environment. The sleep light can also be used as a smart alarm, which will use a bright light to gradually wake you up at the lightest part of your sleep cycle. I found the white noise to be helpful in blocking out outside noises, but couldn’t get on board with the red light, which was bright enough to illuminate my entire bedroom. However, if it works for you, it could be helpful in getting you to sleep faster, and to sleep better, even if you’re fighting jetlag. The app is also helpful, as it monitors your bedroom and lets you know if it’s too hot, humid, or noisy for optimal sleep.
  • Value: 7/10. Can you put a price on a good night’s sleep? If it works for you, $150 isn’t a bad price.
  • Durability: 8/10.  The sleep light seems fairly sturdy, and plugs in to your wall (so you don’t have to worry about charging it).
  • Cool Factor: 10/10.  The sleep light has an unobtrusive, sleek design that looks like a small lamp/alarm clock combo, and should blend in to any bedroom.

Final Verdict: If you have trouble sleeping, the Nox system is worth a shot, but if you’re the type that needs to sleep in a totally dark room, it might not be for you.
