Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan and one of the largest cities in the country. However, visitors will find that its nightlife is rather subdued.
The Islamabad Lights
Nights in Islamabad are as beautiful as its days. Colorful lights and fountains found all over the city provide for a superb view and excellent photo opportunities. During special national and religious events, all of the city’s main buildings and markets are beautifully illuminated. Night walks within the city are usually fun, and made quite lovely by the many lights. However, the fountains make the perfect centerpiece to the city. Also, while you walk around, try and catch sight of the Shah Faisal Mosque. It is a lovely structure that is immaculately lit up at night.
For the most part, finding a place to drink in Islamabad is quite difficult, owing to the culture and religion of the city. One of the few places that international travelers can visit is the U.N. club, which is themed like an Irish pub. It has a gym that converts into a dance floor, pool tables, and a swimming pool. It’s not a bar, but it is a place where you can have a drink. One of the few late night locations in the city is the Beathouse Café, which serves food and has a DJ on the weekends.
