Nice Shopping – Stores. Best Buys & Inside Tips

Nice Shopping

From clothing to wine, local produce, flowers, and perfume, this southern French city has so much to offer travelers.

The Cours Seleya

Nice is divided into several neighborhoods The older part of the city is where you can find the Old Town and the Cours Seleya. This is an ancient part of town that has served a seaport for centuries. The old market is made up of four markets, each specializing in something different. One sells flowers, another meat, a third vegetables and a fourth sells fresh fruit. You can also see lots of regional sellers offering artisan items such as lavender sachets.

The Nice Etoile

For a more traditional shopping experience, head for the main shopping mall in Nice. This is where local shops are and you can find lots of things you might need here such as sunscreen or beach items for the kids. You’ll run into a lot of natives here, so it’s easy to place to meet locals while you shop.

Upscale Shops

If you’ve come to Nice to visit some of the world’s top retailers, then head for the Rue du Paradise. The Rue is entirely dedicated to some of the biggest names in French fashion. Even with a modest budget, this is a fun place to stop off and have a look before heading to the beach.

Specialty Stores

Nice is home to many specialty stores with a lot of nice things you can taste and bring home. The Confiserie Florian is one of the most well known shops in the city, selling plenty of wonderful local chocolates and pastries. Sample the beautiful, jewel-like candied fruit. For more chocolate, try the De Neuville store with many decorated chocolates are both nice to look at and delicious to eat. If you like perfume, this is also a great place to buy some.
