The Netherlands is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. And, depending on what time of the year you visit places like Amsterdam, you need to be aware of what to pack.
Some things should be packed no matter what season you visit The Netherlands. This includes two or three good pairs of walking shoes and hiking boots because you will do a lot of walking in the country. This means you also need a backpack to carry your belongings with you.
Inside that backpack, you should pack a map and travel guidebook. You can always ask locals about how to get around, but it's important to be self-sufficient, especially if you do not speak the language. You should also pack a camera to make sure you document all of the places you visit.
Finally, you should pack plenty of water and snacks to last your entire trip. Be sure to pack things like crackers, fruit, and power bars to replenish.
Clothes to Pack
If you decide to travel to The Netherlands during the colder months, you should start with heavy coats and jackets. This is especially important when walking around at night or if it gets really cold. You should also pack a windbreaker, sweater, or zip-up jacket for walking around during the daytime.
You also need to pack an umbrella because of how often it rains. This is a must. The smaller the umbrella the better so that you can put the umbrella in your jacket or backpack to carry around throughout the day.
Whereas for the summer you need sunscreen, in the winter you need moisturizers to help replenish your skin after being exposed to harsh conditions. Even when it's cold, your face will get burned from the freezing cold air.
