If you are a music lover, especially country music, you’ll love Nashville. The nightlife here is extensive and whether you want to dance the night away, drink or just listen to the great music, you’ll find it here.
There is no shortage of bars and clubs in Nashville. Indoor or outdoor seating, smoking or non-smoking, karaoke or billiards, you’ll find a place that appeals to your nightlife spirit. Many visitors like to stop in numerous venues to see what each has to offer.
A trip to Nashville wouldn’t be complete without spending time enjoying live music. In this city the “nightlife” starts early; some places open in the late morning and remain so until the wee hours of the next day. Stop by the big name venues to see famous entertainers or stop by a bar that showcases tomorrow’s stars or current stars who might show up unannounced. Some of the best nightlife can be found in the lesser-known bars and clubs.
Famous clubs include Tootsie’s who has hosted names such as Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Mel Tillis, Roger Miller, Waylon Jennings and Patsy Cline, to name a few. BB King’s is another popular hotspot. Not great for conversation because it’s loud, but prices are reasonable and the live bands always pack a crowd. The Wild Horse Saloon is on every tourist’s list of places to see. Once known for the line-dancing craze of the 1990s, today it mostly hosts live country music. If you’re looking for something more casual, check out the Bluebird Cafe. Performances often feature up and coming performers; you never know, you might hear these songs on next year’s radio stations.
What to Wear
Aside from a few clubs that might be upscale, most of the bars are pretty casual, mostly requiring shoes and shirts. Of course you can always don your cowboy hat and boots!
