Transportation in Ko Samui – Motorbikes & Scooters
People love to rent motorbikes and scooters to get around on the island of Ko Samui. Luxury and beauty await as you discover all there is to see.
Inexpensive and Convenient Transportation in Ko Samui
There are so many rental shops on the island, and most of the hotels will be able to one for you if you ask. They can likely deliver it straight to the lobby of the hotel after just a quick phone call. Experience transportation the way most of the people here do by hopping on and getting the feel for the ride. Buy gas at practically any store in specially marked cans, or fill up for even cheaper at a gas station. A full tank should last you an entire day of riding.
Warnings for Scooters
You’re likely going to be riding at your own risk, as most places won’t offer any insurance. Rental companies won’t even ask for your driver’s license or a credit card number before they rent you the scooter. It’s all very much done at your own risk. Scooters are typically easy to get the feel for, but you may not want to take the chance. Or you can specifically request for a company who does have some type of insurance policy (or check with your own to see if you’re covered.) Also, watch out for potholes, pedestrians, animals, and always wear your helmet. People here are mainly friendly and cautious, but don’t assume anything. While most business owners seem unlikely to scam you, you should still note any damage that may have been made prior to your taking the bike out.
