    Miri Nightlife

    The second largest city in

    Sarawak

    , Malaysia,

    Miri

is alive during the day and again at night. Stop in here along the way to another area such as Brunei and have fun. This small city is an ideal place to have fun at night and then try a local buffet.

    Pub Hopping

    Miri

has many major pubs where you can enjoy the local brew. Weekends are a particularly good time to head out as this is when many nightclubs are at their busiest.

    Cheerie

    Berries, Balcony, Talking Point,

    WorldClub

Station and several other bars in the area are hopping from early evening to early in the morning. There's no dress code so you can dress down, grab a drink and go dancing on the floor with karaoke and lots of places to meet locals for a date or something more. The broad avenues are brightly lit at night so you can see where you're going. Taxis are plentiful even later at night so you can always find a ride back home.

    Sample the Local Cuisine

Home to a diverse variety of cultural influences,

    Miri

is one place where you can try lots of different cuisines including Chinese and Japanese. Try the local rice wine known as

    tuak

for an unusual drink. Look for many kinds of places for a great dinner. Many places are air-conditioned because the heat can be intense even at night. Others invite you to sit outside and see some of the nocturnal creatures on this island including the fireflies. Try authentic Malaysian dishes such as wild boar, fried jungle leaf and minced tapioca leaves. Buffets are common in the city.
