Milan Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Milan Things to Do

Milan is world-famous for its shopping district. But, the Italian city has other things to do besides shopping for expensive luxury items.

Milan Things To Do – Shopping

Milan’s amazing collection of high-end shops and boutiques can be found on Via Montenapoleone. This famous street houses all of the major fashion brands and stores in the world. You can walk down the street and find Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, and Armani all in the same shopping area.

Continue your shopping experience at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. This historical shopping center links Duomo Square and La Scala Opera House. It is the oldest shopping mall in the world and features the greatest names in fashion like Prada and Savini. Plus, there are exclusive shops and restaurants that you can only find in Milan. The Galleria also attracts tourists just to look at the amazing architecture unlike anything else in the world.

Milan Things To Do – Historical Buildings

If you have any money left over after shopping in Milan, you can tour the many historical buildings in this Italian city. The main attraction is the Duomo, which is a large cathedral that draws in tourists from all over the world. Once you soak in the view of the cathedral, you can buy a ticket to get to the roof of the cathedral. The views from the roof are stunning and well worth the money.

If you cannot make it to the roof of the cathedral because of the crowd, you should visit The Sforzesco Castle. This historical building is set in a wonderful park that helped save the castle from demolition in the 1800s. Outside the castle is a large fountain to welcome you to the ruins. Then, inside the castle area are courtyards, museums, and statues.

Other Things To Do in Milan

If you want to see live action in Milan, we recommend San Siro Stadium. Check the schedule to see if the two football clubs, A.C. Milan and Inter Milan, are playing. If not, you can still tour this historical stadium that was built in the 1920s. Guided tours start every 15 minutes in the museum. Or, you can tour the museum itself. It’s not very big, but it’s full of interesting displays and information about Milan’s football clubs.

Finally, you should visit the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. This special attraction is where Da Vinci’s “Last Supper” painting is held, depicting Jesus’ final meal with his disciples before his death and resurrection. You must book ahead, though, so that you can get access to view the painting.

Overall, there are so many wonderful things to do in Milan. You should easily find something that fits your taste and hopefully your budget.
