Midwest tops Zagat's airline survey

Zagat Survey
has just announced the results of the
2007 Zagat /"Today" show Global Airlines Survey
, and
Midwest
topped the list for overall quality in economy class among U.S. airlines. Following Midwest were
Virgin America
,
JetBlue
,
Frontier
, and
Hawaiian
.
Nearly 7,500 frequent flyers were surveyed, and not surprisingly, ratings for U.S. airlines have dropped by five to nine points on a 30-point scale since Zagat's first airline survey in 1990.
U.S. airlines didn't make the top five for international economy.
Singapore Airlines
was named first, followed by
Emirates
,
Thai Airways
,
ANA
, and
Air New Zealand
.
Southwest
was named the best U.S.-based frequent flyer program, and
Alaska
,
Continental
,
JetBlue
, and
AirTran
rounded out that list.
