Manaoag Things to Do
Manaoag is a very popular destination in the Philippines for Catholic travelers around the world. Some have even referred to as the “Catholic Mecca” by many. It has been existence since the 17th century. A farmer once saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary there. Thousands of people come to the province every year to experience the spiritual nature of the area and take in the different historical and spiritual attractions.

The Rosary Garden
The Rosary Garden is the premier spot for those looking for a serene place to meditate and reflect. It was designed specifically for that purpose. Visitors decide upon their intentions for their Rosary as they enter through the oval entrance, which contains a crucifix. Then, one makes their way to the statues around the garden, each describes the mysteries of the Rosary. Most people leave at least a minimum donation of 10P, but many give much more.
Iglesia Church
This is one of the most visited churches in Manaoag by visitors. In this church is a shrine to Our Lady of Manaoag and is actually the third church built to honor her. It was built after the second one was destroyed in an earthquake at the end of the 19th century. The first church burnt down, but the image of Nuestra Señora del Rosario survived after the fire. This was viewed as a miracle after it happened and has since made the church a place of religious pilgrimage for Catholics around the world.
Our Lady of Manaoag Museum
The museum is the best place to get a firm grasp of the true history of Manaoag. It is dimly lit and quiet, housing a huge collection of artifacts and vestments, gifts to the Virgin Mary, and other religious items associated with the area. Photography is strictly forbidden in the museum to protect the sanctity of its contents and prevent you from disturbing other visitors.
Manaoag Basilica
This is the primary church of Manaoag and the first thing that most people go see when they visit. It is the most famous church in the area and is a focal point for anyone traveling north of Manila while in the Phillipines. They mass occurs every hour on the hour from 6-12 on weekdays. You can drive your car right up to the church and they will even bless your vehicle while you are there.
