Lo & Sons’ O.M.G. Bag Review: Overnight and Medium Gym Bag

Lo & Sons’ O.M.G. Bag Review

Price and Where to Buy Lo & Sons’ O.M.G. Bag: $275, available online at loandsons.com

When it comes to finding the right travel gear, the suitcase is the easy part. For women, it can be surprisingly difficult to find a single purse that can function as a carry-on (one that protects electronics, can zip close so items won’t fall out, and be big enough to hold those carry-on necessities) and a day bag that’s stylish enough to help you blend with sophisticated locals. The Lo & Sons O.M.G. Bag rises to the challenge, and with only a few minor drawbacks, succeeds rather nicely.

Pros: “Gym bag” may be part of this bag’s name, but not one thing about it says stinky socks or locker rooms. It’s an attractive, relatively lightweight nylon bag with soft leather handles and nice details including a padded laptop pocket, back-panel sleeve to slip over the telescoping handle of luggage, and a side pocket to keep a pair of shoes handy but separate. It has a detachable cross-body strap and handles that are long enough to fit comfortably over the shoulder.

Cons: It’s not for travelers looking for a small purse; at 16 inches tall and nine inches wide, it’s a better fit for those comfortable with a larger day bag. At $275, this wouldn’t be a particularly wise purchase if you’re looking for something solely for travel. But consider it as a laptop bag and a daily use purse too, and the cost analysis tips in its favor.

How Lo & Sons’ O.M.G. Bag Rates:

  • Usefulness: 9/10: This bag is an attractive solve for travelers looking for a single solution to the carry-on/travel purse conundrum.
  • Value: 7.5/10. Think of this as a carry-on and it’s going to seem expensive. View it as a purse/laptop bag that will solve your carry-on dilemma and be a stylish and functional day bag for your travels, and you’ll realize it’s actually at least three bags in one, and therefore offers suprisingly good value (and saves storage space at home).
  • Durability: 9/10. This bag seems to be well-made, with smooth-rolling zippers, a nice light-material lining (to find things more easily), and organizational pockets. Since it’s nylon, it can be wiped clean and won’t scuff, which is particularly nice for travel.
  • Cool Factor: 9/10. You know how sometimes you’re at the airport and someone breezes past looking not obnoxiously flashy, but refined and ready-for-anything? They probably have this bag.

Final Verdict: Forget practical-means-frumpy travel purses. This multi-use bag can handle the airport, faraway cities, and even business travel like a sophisticated pro.
