  • Lindos Transportation

  • Lindos is traffic-free, which means buses and cars have to stop on the hill above the town. Taxis can stop near the harbor closer to the center of town.

  • Getting To Lindos

  • The cheapest way to get to Lindos is by bus. The buses depart regularly from the station near the Tourist Information Centre. Buy your ticket at the booth and check the Timetables.

If you sit on the left hand side of the Bus, you get great views of the ocean, and seaside resorts, and also a gorgeous little Greek Chapel. There is fantastic ocean scenery most of the way, and the views coming into Lindos are beautiful. Have your camera out on the trip, you should be able to get some good photos.

  • Lindos to Rhodes

  • There are various buses going from Rhodes Town to Lindos and back every day. The journey between Rhodes Town and Lindos takes about one hour.

  • Complimentary Bus Ride

  • When you reach Lindos, a free shuttle will take you down the hill to the town. It also brings you back up the hill for free to catch the return bus.

  • Donkeys

  • Lindos proper is traffic free, so the only "taxis" you'll see are of the 4-legged variety. Riding a donkey up to the Acropolis is a popular trip with tourists. You can also walk up, and the rest of Lindos can easily be explored by foot.

  • Taxi

  • The real taxis in Lindos are modern air-con equipped Mercedes. The taxis depart near the main square, downhill from the bus stop. If you want to stay late in Lindos to see it by night, you'll have to take a taxi back to Rhodes, or wherever you're staying. Buses don't run much later than 6 or 7 pm.
