Casinos

Gambling is one of the draws in Laughlin, and there are many of small and large casinos to try your luck. The air-conditioned casinos are a nice reprieve from the southwestern U.S. heat on some of those sunny oppressive days.

Take a Boat Ride

Laughlin sits alongside the Colorado River, another appealing aspect of town. You can take a narrated sightseeing tour and the cruise boats are equipped with a full service bar and restrooms. The views from the top deck are wonderful and the tours run year-round. If you want to take a boat ride, but don’t want the tour experience, the water will taxis take you to the docks of the various casinos. For a single day’s wandering it’s a fun experienceYou don’t want to do this daily though because it can get expensive and it’s just as easy to walk from place to place.

Visit a Museum

The American Heroes Museum started as a specialty display for WWII veterans visiting Laughlin but continued donations from the public grew the museum into a permanent home for honoring veterans. There’s also a museum on classic cars at the Riverside Casino. There are two showrooms, one along Casino Drive and the other in the South Tower. These automobiles are actually from the collection of Don Laughlin himself for whom the city is named.

Take a Desert Dune Buggy Tour

Catch some air and hit the sand in a dune buggy for some fun adventure. A van will pick you up in town and take you to the starting point across the state line to Bullhead, Arizona. The pace is leisurely and without need for either harness or helmet. You’ll enjoy amazing views as you go through washes and slot canyons bordered by steep walls. There are also opportunities to stop and explore by foot with your guide. It’s a little pricey, but being it is a longer tour, the price is worth it.
