Looks like the reported drops in hotel occupancy rates in recent months are spurring some travel providers to offer big discounts on hotel rates. We’ve seen many good deals recently, but the lowest prices so far come from LastMinuteTravel.com, which is selling stays at any of the hotels in its system for $1 per night for at least the next two weeks. You can stay for up to seven days in all hotel classes in Las Vegas, Paris, New York, and wherever else LastMinuteTravel has inventory for the same $1 rate. The site lists about 15,000 hotels total.
There’s a catch, however. $1 room rates can only be obtained if you book on Mondays through Fridays during a certain 15-minute window—and which 15 minutes of each day is a mystery. However, LastMinuteTravel will email you clues hinting at the right time to book if you sign up on the website for a hints newsletter.
