Lahore Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys & Inside Tips

Lahore Shopping

Lahore is the capital city of Pakistan, the second most populated city in the country, and among the most heavily populated cities in the world. It should be no surprise that there are many shops and stores at which tourists can do their shopping.

Bazaars

Anarkali is the oldest bazaar in Asia and is named after a legendary girl named “Anarkali.” The bazaar is in front of the Lahore Museum and on the side of Punjab University Old Campus. It spans from the Mall Road on one side to the Lohari Gate, which borders the ancient, walled city on the other end. Here, you can find a number of markets offering clothing for both men and women. It is a famous shopping area for girls and women. While prices are reasonable, bargaining remains advisable. On Sunday, when the markets are closed, vendors invade the main road inside the bazaar. There, they sell a variety of goods at incredible prices.

An alternative to Anarkali is the Ichara Bazaar. This is the most affordable bazaar in Lahore, and visitors can find both women’s and kid’s wear, jewelry, and various other goods for sale. Tourists should be aware that it does get congested and may not be the ideal place for comfortable shopping.

Markets

Fortress Stadium Market is the ideal place to go for women’s and kid’s wear. It offers many Pakistani-style women’s dresses. There are also nice video centers where you can buy DVDs at a reasonable price. You can visit this place for shopping as well as for a nice dining experience, since there are a lot of fine dining restaurants located here. If you are with kids, then Joyland offers some exciting entertainment to help them pass the time.

Another place to visit is Liberty Market. Located beside the Main Boulevard Gulberg, this is a large shopping area of Lahore. MM Alam Road, which is the most famous dining strip in the region, is just a short walk away.
