Labor Day deals have been flooding my inbox over the last few weeks, and I’ve been squirreling them away in anticipation of this very blog post, a monster round-up of Labor Day deals, sales, discounts, and other ways to spend less and do more. There will likely be less competition for the best deals too, with experts predicting a slight drop in travel this Labor Day.
So if you’re looking to get away for an end-of-summer hurrah, then this will be just the light reading you were looking for.
American has U.S. and Canada Labor Day sale fares from $88 round-trip.
Online Travel Agencies
Expedia: Expedia has compiled discounted Labor Day offers, including hotel rates from $24 per night, and discounted air-and-hotel packages in 174 destinations in the U.S. and Canada.
Priceline: Priceline has up to 50 percent off flights, plus sales on hotels, cars, and vacation packages, many of them last-minute specials.
Hotels.com: Hotels.com is running a Labor Day sale with rates up to 40 percent off.
The Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego has a third-night-free offer, plus free meals for kids under 12, and free stays for pets.
At the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, rates are $99 per night between September 1 and 9 with a three-night stay using rate code “$99 in 09.”
At WaterColor Vacation Rentals in Santa Rosa Beach on the Gulf Coast is offering 15 percent off vacation home rentals, plus complimentary perks for three-night Labor Day weekend stays. Packages start at $298 per night and must be booked by August 30.
The Amway Hotel Collection in Grand Rapids is offering rates from $129 per night from September 4 through September 7. Participating hotels are the Amway Grand Plaza, the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, and the Downtown Courtyard by Marriott.
The Waterville Valley Resort is putting on an End of Summer Bash & Fireworkds on Sunday, September 6. The associated lodging package includes two nights’ accommodations and activities for $46 per person, per night (based on quad occupancy).
Labor Day marks the start of Santa Fe’s year-long 400th anniversary celebration, with festivals, concerts, and other activities. At the Eldorado Hotel & Spa, the third night is free with the Super Saver offer, with nightly rates from $219.
New York City’s summer Restaurant Week has been extended by five weeks, through September 7. At 212 participating restaurants in the city, three-course prix-fixe lunches are $24.07 and dinners are $35.
On September 4 and 5, Myrtle Beach celebrates Labor Day with the annual free Beach, Boogie & Barbeque Festival. A number of area hotels are offering special deals for the event. For instance, the Crown Reef Resort has oceanfront room rates from $99 per night, and Springmaid Beach Resort has bed and breakfast rates from $65 per person per night.
