Key West Nightlife
  • Key West Nightlife

  • Key West is a favorite place for travelers looking to spend time away from home and experience a different lifestyle. Here are the best places to experience Key West nightlife.

  • Duval Street

  • Key West is full of exotic clubs catering to the adventurous looking for a little spiciness during their vacation. On Duval Street, expect to find drag queens, transvestites, and nudists all up and down the street on some nights. The best thing to do is let your hair (and maybe clothes) down and enjoy what Duval street has to offer.

  • Dancing and Live Music

  • Rick's Bar on Duval street is where the heavy dancers come to stomp their feet and sway their bodies. The place is usually packed, hot, and sweaty.

Durty Harry's has a regular live band called the Durtbags that is a favorite of Key Westerners. They play almost every night and when they don't play, there's 10 large flat screen TV's to watch your favorite sports team on.

Another place that regularly has live bands and good food is the famous Sloppy Joe's (a place once frequented by Ernest Hemingway). They have a merchandise shop next door, but it's expensive.

One other live music venue to visit is Irish Kevin's. They serve your customary Irish brews here like Guinness and Harp.

  • Where Nudity Is Welcomed

  • The Garden of Eden is for those who like to drink and party au naturale. They have a rooftop bar if you're looking to really feel the warm ocean breeze caress your body. Another place where you can drop your clothes and perhaps learn a thing or two is the Adult Entertainment Club, but be prepared to spend a lot of money because the lessons aren't free. Nudity is always welcomed during the 10 days of Fantasy Fest in October every year regardless of where you go on Duval Street.

  • Where to Get Frozen Drinks

  • The best place in town for frozen drinks that will get you humming on a hot night is Fat Tuesdays. They have what's called a 190 Octane Brain Freeze slurpy that will spin your head around if you drink too many.

  • People Watching

  • If you like watching people meander up and down the street, you need to head to Fogarty's Flying Monkey Saloon on Duval street where you can sit behind a rail sipping on your favorite exotic drinks. (They have large umbrellas that protect you from the sunshine if watching-people and drinking is your thing during the day, too.)
