Keep your New Year’s resolutions while traveling

It’s hard enough keeping your New Year’s resolutions at home, and it’s even harder when you’re traveling. But if you’re serious about not losing your resolve on the road, a little advance planning and creativity can keep you on track.

Resolution: Stay fit by exercising.
Travel tip: Book hotels with fitness centers or pools and make use of them. For a fresh-air option, budget some time each day for a brisk walk or jog.

Travel tip: Whether you want to stop smoking, drinking, or biting your nails, your best bet is to keep yourself occupied on the road. Instead of spending boring nights in your hotel, treat yourself to a movie, concert, play, or sporting event. It’ll help you beat the urge to trash your resolution.

Travel tip: Take care of the environment by offsetting your carbon expenditure from the drive or flight. You could also book a volunteer vacation for your annual holiday.

Resolution: Improve your mind.
